The Story behind the Designer
If you’re curious about the person behind the designer here is a little of my story so far.
Born In Iraq, from Lebanese heritage, my life has been shaped by movement, including fleeing two wars that made me the person you see.
From Iraq, to Cyprus, Lebanon and now the UK since 2006, I came to understand the deep meaning of not only finding HOME but how to create one.
At the time I was born, Iraq felt like the safest place for my family to begin their life together outside of the Lebanon that was in the midst of a civil war. Overnight, in 1990, the life that my parents had built collapsed when the Gulf War began, the lost of their businesses, our home and everything we owned, my ever first experience of loss at the age of nine. we left with few suitcases, memories and a life that had disappeared .
We fled to Cyprus, lived there around a yea, a temporary home for the life we lost in Iraq and the uncertain future awaiting us in Lebanon.
YES, I was only nine years old but I already felt the challenge to reinvent myself.
I wasn’t your typical child or what society would like to call clever, had good grades at school and wear a uniform.
In fact I really disliked uniforms and schools because we are all forced to fit in the same box regardless our unique interests and skills.
I loved Art, Clothes and everything about home from a very young age.
Watching my mum create a beautiful home wherever we moved to, made me fall in love with design and the impact it has on our mood.
So I decided to follow my passion and accomplish an interior Design degree in 2005. I LOVED every day of my five years at university!
However due to the war in 2006 in Lebanon, I moved to the UK and started working for a big fashion retailer for twelve years learning new skills as a visual merchandising expert.
In 2018 I have decided to leave London and move to the North West of England and live in the countryside and reinvent a life I want.
Now I help individuals and businesses with their vision and make their dreams come true through design.
